Located opposite Pétrus, the family-owned estate totals 4.5 hectares. Everything is done by hand. The vineyards have never seen chemicals or pesticides and plowing was down with an ox until 1979. Old vines are all grafted with massale selection by hand to repopulate (never bought clones).
Gravel-rich clay and limestone
Harvest & Vinification
Hand harvested with strict selection. No enzymes, inoculation, chaptalization, acidification. All work done by gravity. Average production is only 1,000 cases. The wine is aged 18 months in barrique (50% new).
