Harvest & Vinification
All the components for Vintage Port were foot trodden in circular granite lagares at Vale de Mendiz. Some include 100% of stems. The wines are racked soon after harvest, aged first in 'toneis' in the Douro over the winter, and then moved to Vila Nova de Gaia. The final blend then rests in 'toneis' at the lodges in Gaia before bottling after about two years of ageing. Residual sugar is 104 grams per liter.
