Limited Release
Today, we’re offering the latest release of Château des Tours, the home estate of the Reynaud family, who is most famously known for Château Rayas. For those of us who know and love wines from the Rhône, the wines of Château Rayas are benchmarks from which all others are measured. And while Château Rayas’ Châteauneuf-du-Pape is the holy grail of heady, old-vine and ethereal Grenache, a mixed selection from the offering below is a relative bargain and should be in every Rhone (and Rayas) lover’s cellar.
The following selection offers a few different expressions from this estate- from the structured and powerful Vacqueyras, crafted from the oldest vines on the estate, to the more classically styled Côtes du Rhône, and on to the beautifully approachable field blends from the Domaine des Tours wines (same estate, same vineyards, different styles).
We love these wines for their incredible uniqueness, and as the weather cools, they are perfect to have in the cellar.

The Domaine: Owned by the Reynaud family since 1935, Château des Tours is the home estate of Emmanuel Reynaud, who took the reins in 1989.
The Vineyards: Forty hectares of vines, including old-vine Grenache, with olives and grains grown alongside the grapes.
The Farming: The vineyards are tended with the same organic methods used in all of Emmanuel’s properties, horse-plowed, and deeply reverent of the old-vine Grenache grown here.
The Cellar: Whole-cluster fermentation with native yeasts and minimal intervention.
The Appeal: A chance to discover the Reynaud family’s distinctive approach beyond Château Rayas.

Grenache, Counoise, Syrah, Cinsault, Merlot. During vinification, each varietal of every vineyard is fermented separately in oak casks, with assemblage taking place in enamel-lined tanks before bottling. The maceration ranges from 12 to 15 days, and fermentation is allowed to begin naturally with no inoculation of yeasts. The wine is then aged for 12 months, with the Merlot aged in barriques (30% new)
