It takes a larger-than-life person to make a larger-than-life wine. Gary Pisoni was a pioneer on California’s central coast when he planted fruit on his hillside of the family estate in the early 1980s. His gregarious personality and passion for wine proved to be perfect complements to the land and climate of the Santa Lucia Highlands.

Today, Lucia Vineyards is run by Gary’s sons: Mark is the vineyard manager, and Jeff is the winemaker.

A sister label of Pisoni Vineyards, Lucia wines come from a collection of family vineyards: Pisoni Vineyards, Soberanes Vineyard and Garys’ Vineyard (the latter two farmed in partnership with Gary Franscioni). The wines of Lucia are vineyard-designated Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Syrah from these vineyards, as well as Santa Lucia Highlands cuvée blends. Lucia wines are made using the same exacting standards for quality as those produced for the renowned Pisoni Estate.

Lucia wines are very deep in fruit, with a tension and managed opulence that is unique in the region.
