Limited Release
As the exclusive US importer of Champagne Michel Fallon, we first introduced our customers to this rising star through his exceptional Cuvée Ozanne. Today, we are thrilled to offer this first glimpse of Le Sentier Levraux—a wine that represents the next evolution in Fallon’s artistic journey. This highly limited allocation is being offered exclusively to our private clients first; any remaining bottles will only be made available to our restaurant and retail partners after our collectors have had the opportunity to secure their allocation. With production limited to just one barrel, we anticipate demand to significantly exceed availability.
A Solera Begins
Le Sentier Levraux represents the next evolution in Fallon’s winemaking journey. After establishing himself with Cuvée Ozanne (named for Avize’s historical name, Ozanne la Belle) and later introducing Avysia, Fallon now unveils this site-specific treasure. This inaugural release comes from a lieu-dit positioned at the coveted upper slope of Grand Cru Avize, where 105-year-old Chardonnay vines provide the fruit for this wine.
While this cuvée is mostly from the 2020 vintage, Le Sentier Levraux is destined to evolve into a solera-style champagne—capturing the essence of this special plot across time. The approach mirrors the philosophy behind Selosse’s transcendent “Substance,” but with Fallon’s own distinctive interpretation of Avize terroir. By securing bottles from this first release, you are witnessing an important new chapter in Michel Fallon’s artistic evolution.
The Selosse Influence
For twenty years, Fallon worked in the vineyards and production alongside Champagne’s iconic Anselme Selosse, absorbing a revolutionary philosophy that terroir—not brand—should define Champagne’s greatest expressions. Now with his own distinct style, Fallon continues to advance the movement that is redefining what Champagne can be, while the influence of his mentor remains evident in his meticulous approach. As Andrew Jefford noted about the revolution in Champagne, “If the future of Champagne truly is going to be one in which terroir plays more of a role… the region as a whole will have to pay more attention.” Fallon exemplifies this future—a grower who prioritizes physiologically ripe fruit, chemical-free viticulture, and a winemaking approach that allows the singular voice of Avize to speak clearly through his champagne. Le Sentier Levraux represents the culmination of Michel Fallon’s time with Anselme Selosse and the continuation of journey advancing the grower Champagne movement with his own unique voice.
